FAQ

These are the most common questions we get asked. If there's anything else you'd like to know, please feel free to reach out!

Candles

All natural soy is our preferred wax for candles. It's plant based, clean burning, sustainable, and produced in the US. All wins in our book.

You'll find that most smaller/independent makers like us use some blend of soy, coconut, apricot, or a few other natural choices. It's more expensive, but they, and we, believe it's worth it. The 'big boys' will generally use paraffin, which is cheaper but derived from petroleum products. It gives a sootier burn and isn't made from any sort of sustainable origin. Blah.

After burning, the surface of your candle may look bumpy, with small pits and craters. That's completely normal, and the nature of soy wax. It won't affect how your candle burns, so you can rest easy. Light it up at your next session and enjoy!

Short answer? Our colored wax rolled a nat 20 for stealth.

Slightly longer answer? It's a tricky method that requires putting the colorant in at particular stages so that it's hidden until the wax begins to melt. We'll make a video about it someday, but for now, let's just stick with... magic!

We use the highest quality fragrance oils available. They are free of ingredients that require a Proposition 65 warning in California, as well as similar ingredients not on the Prop 65 list. They are also 100% phthalate-free. We've done extensive testing (though no animals, wyrmlings, or other beasts were harmed), and believe that the fragrance oils we use have the best hot and cold throw available.

All of our scents are all unique blends. While the aroma of a single fragrance oil right out of the jar might be wonderful, our years of working with scents have refined our senses. We believe that crafting unique scents that no one else has is worth the extra effort!

Absolutely, and we hope you do! Once you're done burning your candle, the easiest thing to do is to throw it in the freezer for a few hours to harden the wax and make it easier to remove.

Our 3.5 ounce bronze tin is perfect for tiny knick knacks - paper clips, safety pins, stuff like that. I mean, with the lid, it makes it easier to carry things like... herbs and spices?

Our 8 ounce jars are already made from recycled glass, and their delightful chonkiness is part of why we chose them. They'll hold pens & pencils, all sorts of accessories, and will look great doing it!

Packpizzle's Adventures

Technically, he's an NPC (non-player character), but I've thought of him and his adventures for so long he seems like an original character to me. I'm developing a backstory for him that takes place in the world of Arkady, which I'm hoping to grow into something... bigger!

Py is a level 20 Forest Gnome - 14 Alchemist Artificer/6 Scribe Wizard. I've got a sheet made for him here, if you'd like to check out his stats & gear!

Much of his backstory is still in development, but I do know a few things.

He was born in the small village of Sodde, the 3rd of 8 children, and the only boy. He grew up helping his mother in her alchemist shop, and many of his skills he owes to her. When he came of age, he and his best friend, Ember in the Night, hit the road, seeking adventure, fame and fortune.

They traveled together for years, becoming part of the group known as Whitt's End. After a lifetime of travel and adventures, Py longed for something simpler, and retired. He's come to the town of Porto Luz, one of his favorite travel destinations, and only a few days travel to his home town. Having opened the Emporium, he's eager to welcome new friends to try his wares!

Shortly after coming together as a party, Py and his allies came across a library deep in the forest. The librarian was a wizened mage called Tobias Whitt. He became their patron for many years, and the group was known as Whitt's End.

Note: During the summer months (June - Aug) we will ship out orders on Monday or Tuesday, to avoid candles spending the weekend in hot shipping containers.

An order's tracking status may take 48 hours to update once a shipping label has been created. If you haven't received any updates after 48 hours, please reach out to us at hello@packpizzles.comand we'll be happy to help you look into it. We also recommend contacting the carrier directly with any shipping related issues since they'll have more information available.

As soon as a package leaves our shop, delivery time (including delays) is up to the carrier. We kindly ask that you allow 3-5 business days from the delivery date for the package to hopefully find its way to the correct address. Sometimes carriers may mark a package as delivered before it actually reaches it's destination or in some cases, the package has been delivered to an Access Point/Locker for customer pickup. We recommend contacting the carrier directly with any shipping/delivery related issues since they'll have more information available.

We also encourage customers to double-check that your shipping address is correct before checking out; we're not liable for missing/lost/stolen packages due to incorrectly entered shipping information and we’re unable to request address changes with the carrier once the package has been processed.

Please email us at hello@packpizzles.com if you still haven't found your order within 3 business days of the recorded delivery date.
